Hoist Motor Specifications & Inventory

New Imperial hoist motors, stocked at EMR and ready to ship. Specifications below, availability one phone call away.

When an elevator is down and the motor is the problem, nobody wants to hear about factory lead times. That is why EMR stocks new Imperial hoist motors at our Trenton, New Jersey warehouse. EMR is an authorized distributor for Imperial Electric, part of Nidec Elevator, the manufacturer whose elevator motors and machines have been an industry standard for more than a century, and our East Coast location puts stocked units within fast freight reach of the country’s densest elevator markets.

The table below lists the Imperial hoist motors we inventory, with the specifications a contractor needs to match a unit to a machine: horsepower, RPM, frame size, and voltage. If your required specification is not listed, call us anyway. Inventory moves, additional units can be sourced through our distributor relationship, and our shop can often propose a rebuilt hoist motor from stock as a faster or more economical alternative.

Matching a Motor to Your Machine

For readers confirming fit, three checks prevent nearly every ordering mistake we see.

Match the nameplate, not the memory. Pull the data from the existing motor’s nameplate: horsepower, RPM, voltage, and frame. The frame designation matters as much as the horsepower, because it defines the mounting dimensions and shaft height that determine whether the new unit lands on the existing base.

Verify the mechanical interface. A motor that matches electrically can still fight you mechanically at the base, the shaft, and the coupling. For modernization installs and machine swaps, our base and coupler survey documents the existing geometry before anything is ordered, and the MOD flexible coupler manufactured by EMR solves the motor to machine connection that a straight swap often cannot. If the project needs a custom mount or bed, our machine shop fabricates it from field measurements.

Ask the question you actually have. Our counter is staffed by people from the shop floor, not a call center. Send the nameplate photo and the situation, and you will get a straight answer about which stocked unit fits, whether new or rebuilt serves the job better, and what ships fastest.

New, Rebuilt, or Repaired: An Honest Word

EMR sells new Imperial motors, sells rebuilt hoist motors from our own shop, and repairs and rewinds existing machines. Because all three paths run through the same building, our recommendation is driven by your situation rather than by what we happen to sell: new for spec driven projects and long service horizons, rebuilt when speed and budget lead, repair when the existing machine is worth saving. Buyers comparing those paths in depth can start with our guide to choosing between repair, rewinding, and replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

The motors listed on this page are new Imperial units stocked through EMR’s authorized distributor relationship with Imperial Electric. EMR separately stocks rebuilt hoist motors from our own shop, listed on the rebuilt hoist motors page, and we will recommend whichever path fits your job.

Call (609) 392 6149 or send the model number through our quote form. Inventory moves as units ship, so the table reflects the specifications we stock rather than a live count, and a phone call gets you a same day answer on availability, pricing, and freight.

Contact us with the nameplate data anyway. Additional Imperial configurations can be sourced through our distributor relationship, a rebuilt unit from our shop may match your spec, and in many cases repairing or rewinding your existing motor is the fastest and most economical path of all.

The existing motor’s nameplate data: horsepower, RPM, voltage, and frame designation, plus anything unusual about the mounting or coupling. A photo of the nameplate is the fastest way to get all of it right, and our team will confirm fit before anything is ordered.

Yes. Stocked motors ship by freight from our Trenton, New Jersey warehouse to job sites nationwide, and our East Coast location puts the major NJ, NY, and PA elevator markets within particularly fast reach.

Yes. EMR performs base and coupler surveys that document the existing geometry before ordering, manufactures the MOD flexible coupler for motor to machine connections, and fabricates custom motor mounts and beds in our machine shop, so the motor you order actually installs.
